Reviewing Extractions

After processing, review extracted data to ensure accuracy.

Why Review?

AI extraction is powerful but not perfect. Reviewing ensures:

  • Party names are spelled correctly
  • Recording information is accurate
  • Legal descriptions match the document
  • The matters the document contains are the right ones

Accessing Extraction Review

There are two ways in:

  • Press Start Review (N) on the Processing Documents card to walk every waiting document in turn. The panel shows your position in the queue and the primary button becomes Accept and Next.
  • Click a single document row to open just that document.

When the queue empties, an inline prompt appears if more documents arrived while you were working - N more documents ready for review, with a Continue button.

Extraction Review Panel

The document opens with the PDF on the right and the extracted data on the left, in these sections:

  • Document header - category, document type and subtype, with the recording information at the top.
  • Parties - one list, each entry carrying a party type.
  • Legal Description - the extracted text and its parsed fields.
  • References - instrument references found in the document.
  • Matters - the matters the document contains, each with its own type and fields.
  • Summary

Parties are a single list, not separate grantor and grantee lists. Who granted what is recorded on the matter, which points back at the parties it involves.

Review Actions

  • Edit switches the panel to edit mode so you can correct values.
  • Accept and Next (or Accept and Close on the last document) submits the review. The keyboard shortcut is ⌘/Ctrl+Enter.
  • On a flagged field, Accept value keeps the AI's value as it stands, and Accept & next error accepts it and jumps to the next flagged field. ⌘/Ctrl+↓ and ⌘/Ctrl+↑ walk the flagged fields (F8 and Shift+F8 do the same; F9 is accept-and-next).
  • Exclude takes the document off the exam. It stays visible under Excluded Documents - see the caveat below.
  • Remove from Order deletes the document from the order entirely, after a confirmation. Unlike Exclude, a removed document is gone, not parked in Excluded.

There is no Reject action.

Completing Review

Submission is blocked while any error-severity field is unresolved. Fix the value or accept it explicitly, and the panel will list the offending fields if you try to submit early.

On success the document is marked Included, records you as its reviewer, and moves out of Processing Documents into Exam Documents. You can reopen an included document and edit it afterwards.

Low Confidence Items

A field the system was unsure about carries an indicator next to it. Error-severity indicators are the ones that hold up submission; warnings and information notes are there to be read, not cleared. Work the indicators rather than hunting for a score.

Working the Queue

The Start Review count is the honest work list: it counts exactly the documents sitting at one of the review stages. Walk it with Accept and Next until it empties, and take the refill prompt if more arrive while you work.

A Note on Excluding

Excluding a document is one-way in the current interface. It moves to Excluded Documents with a Removed by you note, and there is no un-exclude action. Only rows the system excluded as Not Subject Property can be brought back, with Move to Exam Documents.
