Document Review
Some documents require manual review when the AI needs confirmation on classification or extraction.
In This Section
- Processing Reviews - Handle items needing review
What Triggers Review?
Documents are flagged for review when:
- Low confidence extractions (AI is uncertain about extracted data)
- Classification uncertainties (document type unclear)
- Split document decisions (multiple documents detected in one file)
- Validation disagreements (a document imported from the title plant whose AI extraction disagrees with the plant index). These carry the status Validation Review Required
Finding Items Needing Review
Attention Bell
The bell in the header is the quickest way to find waiting work. It shows a count badge and opens a Needs your attention list, and each entry links straight to the tab of the order that needs you.
Orders Table Indicator
The Orders dashboard has a Needs Review column. An order with documents waiting shows an amber alert icon and a count; an order whose documents are all complete shows a green check.
Documents Tab Indicator
Within an order, the Documents tab shows which documents need review. Look for status indicators on individual documents.
Accessing Review
The fastest path walks every waiting document in a single pass:
- Open the order from the Orders dashboard
- Go to the Documents tab
- In the Processing Documents section, click Start Review - the button shows how many documents are waiting
- The review panel opens on the first document; accepting each one advances to the next
If more documents finished processing while you were working the queue, a prompt appears afterwards - "2 more documents ready for review" - with a Continue button that starts a fresh pass.
You can also review one document at a time: click a document marked for review and its review panel opens with the document and the extracted data.
Why Review Matters
A document stays in the Processing Documents section until every one of its reviews is done. Once the last review is accepted, the document moves into Exam Documents, and an order whose documents are all complete reaches its terminal state, Documents Complete.
Completing reviews ensures:
- Documents move out of processing and into Exam Documents
- Correct document classifications
- Accurate extracted data
