Adding Documents from the Plant

Add documents from the title plant to your order. This is the primary method for adding exam documents.

Adding Documents

One document and fifty use the same steps - there is no separate button on each row:

  1. Tick the checkbox on each row you want. The header checkbox takes every selectable row on the page; rows already on the order stay disabled.
  2. The footer shows N documents selected.
  3. Click Add to Order (N).
  4. The window closes and the documents appear in the Documents tab, already processing.

Add to Order is unavailable on a completed or archived order.

What Happens Next

  1. Linked - the document is attached to the order straightaway and appears in the Documents tab while it is still fetching.
  2. Fetched - its file is retrieved from the plant.
  3. Classified and extracted - classification and extraction run on the file, and when extraction finishes the document is either ready for your review or included.

See Documents for what each processing state means.

Watching Progress

Added documents show up in the Processing Documents section of the Documents tab and move out of it as each one finishes. A document that fails stays visible there and can be retried.

After Adding

Documents added from the plant:

  • Appear in the Documents tab
  • Are automatically classified
  • Have their data extracted

Duplicate Detection

A document already on the order shows an On Order badge and its checkbox is disabled, so it cannot be added twice. Selecting the same document more than once in a single batch adds it once.

Tips

  • Preview anything whose index legal description is ambiguous before you add it.
  • Add in batches rather than one at a time - a single Add to Order handles the whole selection.
  • Watch the Processing Documents section for documents that fail, and retry them there.
